The Attorney General is Arizona's chief legal officer. Qualifications matter. The Attorney General oversees hundreds of attorneys and staff, manages complex litigation, defends Arizonalaw, protects constitutional rights and serves as the state's toplegal advocate. This is not a position for on-the-job training.Rodney stands apart from the other republican candidateseeking this office. He has spent approximately 17 years as a licensed attorney. He has prosecuted crimes, advised clients, handled complex legal matters and developed the judgment thatcomes from years of practicing law.By contrast, Rodney's Republican primary opponent has beenlicensed to practice law for less than three years and has neverpracticed law.Voters should ask themselves a simple question. If yourranch, business, property rights or constitutional freedoms wereon the line, would you hire a lawyer with seventeen years of experience or someone who has never practiced law?The Attorney General's office is not a place to learn how to bea lawyer. It is a place where experience, judgment and leadership matter. Rodney's commitment to service extends beyondhis legal career.He currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the UnitedStates Air Force Reserve. At a time when military service has become increasingly uncommon among elected officials, Rodneycontinues to serve his country in uniform. That commitment reflects the qualities we should expect from an Attorney General:integrity, discipline, accountability, leadership and service aboveself.His campaign has also attracted support from respected leaderswho understand law enforcement, public service and Arizona'swestern way of life. Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan, a lifelong horseman and one of Arizona's most respected law enforcement leaders, serves as a chair of Rodney's campaign. FormerArizona Attorney General and our current Superintendent of PublicInstruction, Tom Horne, also serves as a campaign chair.Those endorsements matter because they come from peoplewho understand what it takes to successfully serve in positionsof public trust.The leaders we choose today will influence whether Arizonaremains a place where horse ownership is encouraged, propertyrights are respected, public lands remain accessible, small businesses can thrive and western traditions are preserved.Based on my firsthand experience working with RodneyGlassman, I believe he understands those priorities better thananyone else in this race, and I know he is more qualified to beeffective on the job as Attorney General.That is why I will be voting for Rodney Glassman in the Republican primary for Attorney General, and anyone who loveshorses or our Western heritage should proudly do so, too. oAdam M.
